At a young age, Trish was seduced into the creative world by one small tin of watercolour paints. She became the child who would give up playing outdoors with friends, to stay indoors experimenting with various medium.
That love affair with creativity continued throughout her teens, and into adulthood. Over the years she has developed a passion for soft pastels, a medium that imputes warmth and softness into portraits, still-lifes and landscapes.
Born and raised in Southern Ontario, Trish moved to Barrhead, Alberta in 2009 with her husband and 5 children. She has been inspired by the vast Alberta sky and rolling farm land. In her cozy cabin studio she spends hours translating the colours of nature onto textured papers. Following a plein air outing Trish will recapture the landscape, or set up a still life with the interesting artifacts found outdoors often complimenting them with vintage finds.
Trish has won numerous awards including Master Pastellist status with Pastel Artists Canada.
"Trish has such an eye for color and talent for painting reflective surfaces, and Kiwi Study highlights these talents well. I love Kiwi Study and can't help but think about the 'fruit of the spirit' when I see it. Thanks Trish for this bit of loveliness that I've been able to add to my home!" Jennifer ~ Arizona
