I actually wanted to give you a peak at the detail in this painting and the kind of paper I used. With my growing passion for pastel I am trying any paper that I can get my hands on. I've done alot of research online about the variety of papers available. I am quite fond of the Velour paper written about in my previous entry. This painting was finished on charcoal Sennelier La Carte paper http://www.dickblick.com/products/sennelier-la-carte-pastel-card/.
When all was said and done, painting in colour, from black and white really caused me to question skin colour. Not a task for beginners, but a good test to the knowledge of the skin, making it look lifelike and believable. Of course I absolutely enjoyed it!
Stay tuned, I just bought a sheet of white Wallis paper and am excited to experiencing its rough gritty surface.
